Originally sold in Hawaiian souvenir shops, this model is a great introductory kit for young modelers interested in wooden ship building. Made by Anekona, Hawaii in the early 1970’s. These models were also available as pre-built display items with a bit more detail in the late 1960’s. The novelty is that these models are produced on the island and feature Koa wood components. The box art is also exceptional. This item is desirable for both model builders and Hawaiian artifact collectors alike.
